Some of the skeletonson these cups representthe shades of Greek poetsand philosophers, whose names are inscribed on the silver at their sides, andone of them, accompanied by a pig, is labeled as that of Epicurus himself.Epicurus (that is to say, his skeleton) has a philosophers wallet (scriptof the New Testament) slung from the left hand, whilst he lays his righthand on what seems to be a large cake on a tripod table.
