A large, detailed woodcut illustration depicts a classical monument or tomb. At the very top, a nude male figure stands holding a staff. He is positioned above a circular medallion. Within the medallion is the Greek text for Mirror of Love original: "ΕΡΟΤΟΣ ΚΑΤΟΠΤΡΟΝ". Two winged children, known as putti, lean against the medallion while holding lit torches. On the far left and right of this top section, ornate, vase-shaped candlesticks feature dolphin-shaped handles. The middle section of the monument consists of a classical architectural frame. Two fluted Corinthian columns support a heavy entablature. Between the columns, a large arch contains a seated figure of Queen Artemisia. She wears a crown and holds a cup and a scepter. Above the arch, a decorative mask of a bearded man is flanked by two more putti. The base of the monument features a rectangular plaque with a Greek inscription in four lines: Artemisia, Of the Queen, At Rhodes original: "ΑΡΤΕΜΙΣΙΑ / Ο Σ / ΒΑΣΙΛΙΔΟΣ / ΣΡΟΔΟΙ". At the bottom of the entire structure, a large horizontal rectangular panel shows a trophy of maritime banners. This display includes a central cuirass on a post, an anchor, a rudder, shields, and other nautical equipment.
