the house of Judah shall come together to the house of Israel, and they shall come together from the land of the North, and from all the lands to the land which I gave as an inheritance to their fathers.

19 And I said, May it be, O Lord; because I will place you among children, and I will give thee a chosen land, an inheritance of God Almighty of nations; and I said, You shall call me Father, and from me you shall not turn away.

20 But as a wife rejects her companion, so the house of Israel has rejected me, saith the Lord.

21 A voice was heard from the lips of weeping and supplication of the sons of Israel, because they have done unjustly in their ways, they have forgotten their holy God.

22 Return, you returning children, and I will heal your bruises. Behold, we will be thy servants; for thou art the Lord our God.

23 Truly the hills were a lie, and the power of the mountains, but through the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.

24 But the shame has consumed the labors of our fathers, from our youth, their sheep and their calves and their sons and their daughters.

25 We slept in our shame, and our dishonor covered us, because we and our fathers have sinned before our God, from our youth until this day; and we have not listened to the voice of the Lord our God.

CHAP. 4. 4.

1 IF Israel returns, saith the Lord, to me, he shall return; and if he takes away his abominations from his mouth, and fears before my face,

2 And swears, The Lord lives, with truth in judgment and in righteousness, and the nations shall be blessed in him, and in him they shall praise God in Jerusalem.

3 For thus saith the Lord to the men of Judah, and to those inhabiting Jerusalem, Break up for yourselves a fallow field, and do not sow upon thorns.

4 Be circumcised to your God, and be circumcised in the hardness of your heart, you men of Judah, and those inhabiting Jerusalem, lest my wrath go forth as fire, and burn, and there be no one to quench it, because of the wickedness of your doings.

5 Announce in Judah, and let it be heard in Jerusalem; say, Sound the trumpet upon the land, cry aloud; say, Assemble, and let us enter into the fortified cities.

6 Taking up flight to Zion; hasten, do not stand, because I am bringing evils from the North, and a great destruction.
