to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire, which I did not command them, and it did not come into my heart.
32 Therefore, behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, and they shall no longer say, "The Altar of Topheth" original: "Βωμὸς τοῦ Ταφὲθ" and "The Valley of the Son of Hinnom" original: "φάραγξ υἱοῦ Ἐννὸμ", but "The Valley of the Slain"; and they shall bury in Topheth, because there shall be no place [to bury elsewhere].
33 And the dead bodies of this people shall be for food for the birds of the sky, and for the beasts of the earth, and there shall be no one to frighten them away.
34 And I will cause to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem the voice of those who rejoice, and the voice of those who are glad, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, for the whole land shall be in desolation.
1 At that time, saith the Lord, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of those who dwelt in Jerusalem from their graves,
2 And they shall spread them out to the sun and the moon, and to all the stars, and to all the host of heaven, which they loved, and which they served, and after which they walked, and which they sought after, and to which they bowed down; they shall not be gathered, and they shall not be buried,

6 Listen carefully, and hear; they will not speak thus: "There is no man who repents of his wickedness, saying, 'What have I done?'" The runner has ceased from his course, like a sweating horse in his neighing.
7 And the stork in the heaven knows her time; the turtle dove and the swallow of the field, and the sparrows have observed the times of their arrivals, but this my people has not known the judgments of the Lord.
8 How will you say, "We are wise, and the law of the Lord is with us?" In vain has the lying pen original: "σχοῖνος ψευδὴς" literally "false measuring-line/cord/stylus" been made for the scribes.
9 The wise are put to shame, and are terrified, and have been caught, because they have rejected the law of the Lord; what wisdom is in them?
10 Therefore I will give their wives to others, and their fields to those who shall inherit them, and they shall gather their produce, saith the Lord.
13 There is no grape on the vines, and there are no figs on the fig trees, and the leaves have fallen.
