22. To each of them he gave a change of clothes original: "raiment"; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothes.

26. And they told him, saying, "Joseph is still alive, and he is the ruler over all the land of Egypt!" But Jacob's heart went numb original: "fainted", for he did not believe them.
27. Then they told him all the words Joseph had said to them; and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of their father Jacob revived.
28. And Israel said, "It is enough; my son Joseph is still alive. I will go and see him before I die."

In the previous chapter, the subject was the internal man (represented by Joseph)—specifically, how it began the process of joining itself original: "initiated into conjunction" with the external natural level of the mind (represented by the ten sons of Jacob) through the intermediary original: "medium", Benjamin. Now, in this chapter, the subject is the internal man actually joining itself to the external natural. However, because there can be no such union except through "spiritual good from the natural" (represented by Israel), the internal man first prepares to connect that good to itself.
