Castigationes seu Emendationes

The seal of Yale University features a shield with an open book. On the top page, the Hebrew characters read "Light." On the bottom page, the Hebrew characters read "Truth" original: "אורים" (Urim) and "ותמים" (Thummim). Below the shield, a decorative banner contains the motto "Light and Truth" original Latin: "LUX ET VERITAS".
