original: "Tableau Oeconomique." This 1758 work is the foundational text of the Physiocratic school of economics. It is famous for being the first to describe the circular flow of wealth and goods within a national economy.
François Quesnay (1694–1774) was a French physician to King Louis XV and the leader of the "Physiocrats," a group of thinkers who believed land was the source of all wealth.
