An elaborate engraved headpiece with an architectural and allegorical theme. The central rectangular panel depicts several figures within a classical vaulted hall featuring a prominent archway. This central scene is flanked by two circular medallions. The left medallion shows a figure holding an astronomical instrument (likely a telescope or quadrant) pointed toward a large, radiant sun. The right medallion depicts figures in a pastoral or wilderness landscape. The entire composition is framed with ornate scrollwork and foliage. At the bottom left, inside the border, is the reference text "I. p. 32, 33, &c." At the bottom right, it is signed "S: Gribelin sculps."
