[...in] which He created, remaining completely and for the
most part hidden from us, His natural and earthly
creatures. Therefore, it is indeed possible for us
Christians to understand all Divine secrets original: "heimligkeiten," referring to the hidden mysteries of nature and the spirit.,
so long as we are willing to prepare our senses for them
and pray to God for His grace; for He is well-disposed
and ready to give to us. For He has created us for
this purpose: that we should increase His honor and glory,
and at all times pray to and call upon Him for
such grace and wisdom. For all wisdom comes from
God, and with Him there is no end, for He is the
highest and deepest of all arts arts: "Künsten" in this context refers to specialized knowledge, such as alchemy, medicine, or the practical sciences of the era
and secrets; just as the ancient pagan masters and
philosophers acknowledged in their hearts—which
they have revealed to us in their writings—how they
here communicate to human creatures how such
art and wisdom may be desired from Him,
each according to his own perception and understanding.
