And for this reason, God is both a body body: "Corpus," used here to describe a substantial or visible presence, rather than a physical human body and a spirit spirit: "Spiritus," the intangible, divine essence; because He was visible, like a fire in a dark flame. For fire is considered to be both a body and a spirit: that which one sees is bodily, and that which one cannot grasp is spiritual. Therefore it is said: God is a fire and a spirit. And the Spirit of God existed in His own essence, which essence was the light and clarity of all light, which was a spiritual body—an airy being. As Baruch says: "This is our God, and no other shall be esteemed or named in comparison to Him." original: "Das ist vnser Gott / vnd kein ander soll gegen disem geacht werdē / noch geheissen sein." This refers to Baruch 3:36 in the Apocrypha. Therefore Paul says: "From Him, in Him, and through Him are all things; to Him be praise and honor." original: "Auß jhm / in jhm / vnd durch jhn sein alle ding," referencing Romans 11:36.
