If the Master has business which the spirits resist fulfilling, let him take up his staff, touch and strike their seals The physical symbols or drawings representing the spirits with it, and bring them near to the fire or coals with which the fumigation The burning of incense or herbs to create ritual smoke is present, and he shall have them obedient immediately. Finally, when all these things are duly and well prepared and ordered, let the Master—either alone or with his Associates—enter the circle; but upon entering, let him say:
