Complaisance original: "Gefälligkeit"; the quality of being obliging or inclined to please others through kindness, also an important virtue of Freemasonry, is produced by a good heart. This honest essence of a good will pleases without compulsion; being obliging between friends makes their interaction ever more pleasant and nourishes the fire of friendship, which would soon be extinguished if it were to be maintained only through actual acts of service.
