This page depicts a commemorative medal for Melchior Pfinzing (1481–1535), a provost (the high-ranking administrator) of St. Sebald's Church in Nuremberg. Pfinzing was a prominent diplomat and a key literary advisor to Emperor Maximilian I, most notably overseeing the publication of the Emperor's chivalric epic, Theuerdank.
