So I seize this opportunity to add a few reminders to the readers at the same time.

The first concerns the size of this first part, or the small number of sheets it contains, as it might have seemed somewhat strange to many readers that, whereas such writings appearing in parts usually consist of at least 5 to 6 sheets, this present one, excluding title and preface, has comprised only a few pages over three sheets.

In fact, it was intended to consist of more sheets, and to contain 5 to 6 of them, according to both my and the publisher's intention. However, the manuscript for it was sent to the publisher so late, for reasons I will mention hereafter,
