This is the English title for Liaozhai Zhiyi, a famous collection of nearly 500 mostly supernatural tales written by Pu Songling during the early Qing Dynasty (late 17th century).
The "Studio" refers to the author's library or study, which he named Liaozhai (the "Chatting Studio"). Legend says he invited travelers to drink tea and share strange stories, which he then recorded.
