Isis Revelata: An Inquiry into Animal Magnetism

Having no immediate prospect of this hope being fulfilled, and having been frequently asked for information by both medical professionals and others, I have, at last, felt almost compelled to present a brief overview of the progress made so far in explaining original: "elucidation" this mysterious original: "obscure" but most interesting subject. As the reader will soon see, this could not have been done satisfactorily through just casual and interrupted conversation. Indeed, it is almost impossible for anyone to understand many of the necessary details without having either conducted experiments themselves or witnessed—or at least carefully studied—those performed by others.
