The subject of this portrait is Wen Yanbo (1006–1097), referred to here by his courtesy name, Kuanfu. He was a renowned minister known for his longevity and his ability to maintain high office through several imperial transitions. Along with Fu Bi, he represented the stable leadership of the mid-eleventh century.
