original: "Wu Bei Zhi" (武備志). Compiled by Mao Yuanyi (1594–1640) and published around 1621, this work is the most comprehensive military encyclopedia in Chinese history. It consists of 240 volumes covering military theory, strategy, weapons, formations, and even coastal defense and navigation.
