A woodcut depicts a Chinese polearm known as a Huo Qiang Fire Spear. The weapon features a long wooden shaft with a metal point at the base. The head of the weapon consists of a central spear point flanked by two curved, crescent-shaped blades that point upwards. Attached to the base of the spearhead is a cylindrical tube, which served as a barrel for gunpowder to discharge flames or projectiles.
