This is the title of the Wubeizhi (original: 武備志), often translated as the "Treatise on Armament Technology." Compiled by Mao Yuanyi and presented to the throne in 1621, this massive work consists of 240 volumes. It was created during the late Ming Dynasty, a period of intense conflict, to preserve and codify centuries of Chinese military knowledge, ranging from battlefield tactics and weapon designs to coastal defense and star charts for navigation.
