...[if the omens for] those in the Contrary original: Ni (逆); the opposing or unfavorable position relative to the sun's energy position consist of many Embraces original: Bao (抱); solar halo arcs that curve toward the sun that are bright and long-lasting, while their Back-arcs original: Bei (背) and Jewel-halos original: Qiong (璚); a specific type of auspicious celestial arc are dim and vanish first, then the Favorable original: Shun (順); the side aligned with the omen's energy side will be victorious.

If the sun has an Embrace and two Earrings original: Er (珥); parhelia or "sundogs" appearing at the sides of the sun, and a single Rainbow original: Hong (虹); an atmospheric arc or streak of color pierces the Embrace, and the Embrace reaches the sun: he who strikes in the direction of the Rainbow will be victorious.

If the sun has an Embrace, two Earrings, and a Jewel-halo, and two Rainbows pierce the Embrace and reach the sun: he who strikes in the direction of the Rainbow will be victorious. Generally, whenever a Rainbow pierces an Embrace, it signifies a great battle and the shedding of blood.

If the sun has a Double Embrace original: Chong Bao (重抱); two concentric arcs curving toward the sun with two Earrings on the left and right, and there is a white Rainbow piercing the Embrace: striking in the direction of the Embrace brings victory and the capture of two enemy generals. If there are three Rainbows, three generals will be captured.

If there is a Jewel-halo inside a Double Embrace: striking in the direction of the Embrace leads to victory. It is also said that this indicates there are those within the army who wish to rebel.

If the sun has a Double Embrace and a Back-arc: striking in the direction of the Embrace leads to victory and the acquisition of territory. This may also signify the withdrawal of troops original: Bashi (罷師).

If the sun has a Double Embrace with Jewel-halos both inside and outside the Embrace and two Earrings: striking in the direction of the Embrace leads to victory and the destruction of the enemy army original: Pojun (破軍). Within the army...
