...e the sun, it indicates disaster.
If a black vapor resembles an arrow shooting toward the sun, this phenomenon is called an Arrow original: Jian (箭). It serves as an omen that treacherous and wicked subjects are plotting rebellion.
If blue and red vapors resembling a human head appear suspended in the center of the sun, it is called a Fall original: Zhui (墜). This signifies that wicked officials are monopolizing power and plotting to harm their ruler.
When the shape of the vapor encircles the sun on four sides in three layers, it is called a Lift original: Ti (提). Within a year, war will break out and the ruler will die; this is also known as "Falling to Earth." Alternatively, if blue and red vapors in the shape of a triangle prop up the sun from above, it is also called a Lift. This signifies a minister seizing and coercing the ruler, such that the sovereign is controlled by his subordinate.
If the sun has four Lifts, there will be great military conflict and famine within the year. However, if there is heavy rain, the disaster will not come to pass. If the sun has six Lifts, the world will fall into chaos, and the sovereign will be loathed or suffer under these conditions.
When blue and red vapors lie horizontally above and below the sun, it is called an Obstruction original: Ge (格). This indicates that a minister is obstructing the ruler meaning the minister is blocking the ruler's will or access to information, unless the state is supported by virtuous ministers who can provide a proper defense.
