The regions covered by the salt administration include: in Shaanxi, the four prefectures of Xi'an, Hanzhong, Fengxiang, and [Gongchang]; in Henan, the six prefectures of Kaifeng, Guide, Huaiqing, Henan, Runing, and Nanyang, and one department of Ruzhou; and in Shanxi, the two prefectures of Pingyang and Lu'an, and the two departments of Ze and Liao.
The Imperial Horse Agency responsible for horse supply and military transport is currently administered by the surveillance officials and is stationed at Ningwu Pass. The Regional Military Commission is stationed in the provincial capital; it oversees 10 garrisons, commands 51 outposts, and has 9 additional outposts, some of which are set up in other territories. The Regional Military Commission of the shifting administration is stationed in Datong; it oversees 14 garrisons, commands 70 outposts, 3 additional outposts, and 2 directly subordinate outposts.
There are a total of 24 garrisons and 135 outposts located within Shanxi. Combining the three garrisons of Xuanfu, Datong, and Shanxi, the original quota of government soldiers was 312,517. The current number of soldiers is 219,800.
