Cinnamon/Osmanthus
Section on Trees, Vol. 33
A traditional woodblock print illustration of a tree, identified in the margin as 桂 (Gui), which can refer to an Osmanthus or Cinnamon tree. The tree is depicted with a thick, gnarled trunk that twists slightly and features a prominent hollow or knot near the base. The branches spread out to form a broad canopy filled with dense clusters of small leaves. The ground at the base is rendered with simple horizontal lines and a few tufts of grass.
