Section As for what I said, that your intention became clear and the speech regarding your purpose in this book was divided, the aim of that statement was that until the seeker's purpose is made clear to the respondent, the seeker's desire is not attained. For questions are asked about difficulties, and if the difficulty is not resolved by the answer, it gives no benefit. And one cannot resolve a difficulty except through knowledge of the difficulty. And what I said, that the speech regarding your purpose was divided, means that the answer to the general question should be general, since the seeker was learned in all the degrees and divisions. However, the beginner has need of detail, and of the divisions of definitions and explanation, especially since your purpose—may God make you happy—in this has been that I should detail and compile a book from your question.
