Maximus of Tyre; Alcinous · Unknown

...the number peculiar to the addition of the good,
or no longer, and not itself a peculiar addition is pleasure;
the choices of the goods, the same, the safety;
how then is the good not pleasant, but every
pleasant thing likewise, everything serious, not with it
a good, they themselves and likewise of everything; for even if there were
those turning around pleasure, because of which things they say at once
even if not of the good, but the good of the one choosing; with
but philosophy, pleasure will not be warmed because not even
with the good, but a phantom of the good; but that which is not a good
but neither is there a need for pleasure of the good; just as by
of money, the departures of the understandings
of the wicked, even if they were left behind as choiceworthy at once, the similarity toward
the true; but the nature of the departure
as if assuming, but already these things written for a little
have belief; but one must heal the truth, not the
residue, nor the opinion of the goods; but to struggle is the choice
from the wicked goods and improved, [so that] it will not be for the goods to share;
as indeed the one, in good money and treasures being stored;
since indeed of the goods something of the wise, and it would be
for us a sharing, and toward pleasure especially thus
the way; for the destruction looks inward; the one assuming;
the one looking toward, and the not undergoing sin;
at once the positions toward the work; of the necessary
the one not in the chariot, the one of the horses in the plow;
it will be plowed, the nature toward us, of the remaining toward
but to the others they distract them toward the shapes;
ignorance, but toward the need at once left toward
but toward the excess; and these things for not by this
or because of him, the turning impulse with choices
of the arrows and dangers, or even if it should happen to bodies
to human nature; just as also I think that from here.
