The first edition of this German Theology was printed in the year of Christ 1516 original: "A. C." (Anno Christi) and Dr. Luther provided a preface for it, which is also contained in this edition, and is found in Volume 1 of the Altenburg edition A significant multi-volume collection of Luther's works published in the 17th century, page 12; this edition, by contrast, was printed at Strasbourg in 1520.
