An ornamental initial letter E.Furthermore, I set and wish to have stipulated that a heavy corpus in the descension descent or descending is the heavier the more straightly such a heavy corpus, or bodily thing, descends toward the centro center of the world.

An ornamental initial letter E.Let there be a sphere A. Now I set four lines AB, AC, AD, AE as four paths through which the mentioned sphere may descend. We also set the line AB for the strongest and most correct path of such descension or descending, straight according to the plumb weight or perpendiculariter perpendicularly upon the centrum or center point of the world, from which it follows that the line AD goes stronger and more correctly upon the first-mentioned center than the line AE. Therefore we stipulate and set down as certain and true that the mentioned sphere or corpus A is heavier in the case or descending through the line AD than through the line AE, because (as is said) it stretches itself straighter against the centro of the world, and that in the same manner such a corpus goes heavier through the line AC than through the line AB, and so further: the closer such a fall or descension occurs to the line AB, the heavier such a bodily thing takes its path or fall.
