Thus, the best and nearest way is indeed that one together and in general fall into the grace of His divine omnipotence and pray diligently for the aversion of such punishments.
Since, however, He has also promised to provide sustenance for his own people in evil and expensive times in His word, He has therefore not only often helped them without means, as the Scripture testifies, but has also undoubtedly endowed mankind with understanding and special wisdom to that end, so that they themselves might think of means by which to save themselves in such distress, and may create all sorts of works and skillful labors. Therefore, such wise artists are mentioned honorably among the people of God in the second Book of Moses, chapters 28, 35, 36, and 38.
