Inhora and in horas have the same difference as indie and in dies. Cicero: "He who has lived for the hour, not only about the fortunes and goods of citizens, but he has not thought about his own utility." Virgil: "Gallus, whose love grows so much in me hour by hour, when in the new spring the green alder raises itself."
Indoles nature/disposition is the potential of future virtue; not only growing in boys, but in men also, and signifies the knowledge of present virtue with a certain inherent nature. Sometimes it is taken in a bad sense and is a signification of a future vice. Transfer to inanimate things: as "seeds are valid for preserving the character."
Indulgeo I indulge is not to pardon, as the common folk say, but is to yield softly and delicately, to bestow and permit: as "to indulge gluttony." Indulgentia is a delicate and soft yielding, a bestowing, a compliance that is delicate. Sometimes, however, it is taken for pardon and remission of guilt: as it is had in papal bulls.
Industriolus diligent is not said; but industrius.
Infensus hostile is vehemently angry, bearing hatred.
Infestus hostile is greatly troublesome, and going against [someone].
Infestare to infest is to give or cause trouble in frequent incursions.
Inficias eo I deny, that is, I deny. And it has only the accusative plural from inficio, that is, I deny. And it is always joined with eo.
Inficiator denier is one who denies what the actor seeks, or what the accuser objects. In inficiari, that is, to deny.
Infinitivus infinitive with the accusative and with another verb joined to it seeks the sub-understanding of "it is." Truly it is neutral, or "it is necessary" is needed: as "desist from me being provoked." Virgil: "Desist from the well-begun victory," that is, it is necessary to desist.
Infra below signifies contiguity of place with the located: as "the stone is below the wall." Also without contiguity: as "below the roof," it is transferred to the part of dignity: as "the learned man is below the unlearned," which is below the dignity of the good.
Intra within signifies a circumscribed place, but not contiguous with the located: as "I am within the walls of the city." It is also proposed to the date or number: as "I will come to you within January," or "within two months." Where infra is used, pitra is barbaric and not said in Latin.
In manibus or in manu is, besides its general signification, to be in one's own power.
In medium into the middle is placed for deliberation, that is, in common.
In mentem venire to come into mind is not only to think or understand, but also to remember. And when it is said, "The thought of this matter comes into my mind," it is put for thought.
