And would that they did so as happily as they do shamelessly, when each one pursues his own opinion, indeed, not without great bombast, frequently according to his whim. They perform not at all the office of an interpreter, but rather act like those addicted to alchimia alchemy. For which reason, they are to be called, with best right and merit, lovers of opinion rather than lovers of wisdom, or rather you would call them not tes aletheias philotheamonas lovers of the spectacle of truth as in Plato, but homoious philosophis like those who profess wisdom. Some of these have written so much on the immortality of the soul according to the opinion of Aristotle that they have sufficiently put their own ignorance to the test in this one thing, if their writings are compared more diligently and exactly with Aristotle himself by someone who is not ignorant of the ancient interpreters, especially the Greeks and Plato and the Platonists.
