A large ornamental drop cap 'V' features floral and scrollwork motifs.Just as the polished surface of a body reflects the light received from the sun in various ways, with some rays scattered toward nearby objects according to the angle of incidence, while others are reflected back to their source by the same path upon which they descended, so too do I—having been exalted far beyond my merit by the distinguished honors of the illustrious London College, which were derived from the radiant splendor of Royal Majesty—become known to the world and, with a grateful heart, look up to and venerate the source of such a great benefit.
