I shall now explain the calculation of the tithi lunar day and other elements.
It is as follows:
From the past years, multiplied by eight and added to eight, then divided by seven, the quotient obtained is the ahargaṇa number of elapsed days.
In that same ahargaṇa, multiplied by eight and added to eight, then divided by seven, the quotient obtained is the elapsed tithis lunar days.
Thus, the calculation of the tithi and the rest should be understood in sequence.
