Imprisonment of Sylvester.
They sent Sylvester to a wild island of the White Sea, to the secluded Solovetsky Monastery, and ordered Adashev to live in the newly conquered Fellin, to the capture of which he had contributed at the time with his intellect and arrangements; but the steadfastness and tranquility of this man annoyed the malicious persecutors: they imprisoned him in Dorpat, where he died of a fever two months later, to the joy of his enemies, who told the Tsar that the exposed traitor had poisoned himself (19) ..... a man unforgotten in our History, the beauty of the age and of humanity, according to the probable account of his friends: for this famous favorite appeared together with the virtue of the Tsar and perished with it.....
