What the Party of People's Freedom Wants

all factories, plants, and lands (to take the land not only from the landowners but also from the peasants) and to transfer them into the hands of society (socialization of the means of production), so that every person would receive only a salary for their labor and not any other kind of income. Such a social order is a socialist republic; in a socialist republic, there should be no income-producing property at all, and everyone must live only by their own labor.

However, the socialists themselves understand that such great changes in the entire life of all people cannot be brought about all at once, right now. Therefore, for the time being, they are striving only for the establishment of a democratic republic. In a democratic republic, there are both working people and capitalists, but the working people have rights (freedom of association, assembly, strikes, an eight-hour workday, methods for establishing a fair wage, etc.) that help them fight the capitalists and little by little, step by step, prepare the means for establishing a socialist republic *).

The Party of People's Freedom, as already stated, also wants to protect the working people from the violence of the capitalists and also wants to establish a democratic republic. This means that for the immediate improvement of the people's economic life, the Party of People's Freedom proposes the same or almost the same measures as the socialists; the Party of People's Freedom differs from the socialists in only one thing: it believes that taking away factories, plants, and all land from private individuals (small and large owners), even from the peasants, and transferring them into the hands of society may
