The choice of delights is three, from which you shall take their fruits:

A mask and a haughty spirit are a sign of pride.

Saying twenty-five

The days of youth have passed, and the abundance of young adulthood is weary with burdens and darkness.

Saying twenty-seven

He who has lived purely in his deeds, the judge will find no argument against him.

Saying twenty-eight

He who speaks much will stumble, and he who remains silent will escape.

Saying twenty-nine

The soul needs morality just as the earth needs the rain.

Saying thirty

The soul is in the image, and wisdom adds strength to it, and its fruits are sagacity.

The generous man offers his soul to his enemies, and the miser hides his grace from his friends.

When a person sins, he should not look to the smallness of the deed, but to the greatness of the One against whom he has sinned.
