F. Sebastia. Munst. To the Hebrew Readers

Take now from me all the chosen ones and other good men, see the book that your heart desired and the will to learn the Holy Language. For in it I will teach you in the schools to read, to speak, and to understand this language. I have made known to you all the paths of the chambers of grammar in names, in verbs, in words, and in taste, and in melodies. For I have seen many who, without books, have labored in vain in this language. Also, many of my students have asked me to make for them Hebrew books from which they might learn the language of God and the pious ones who prophesied. For this reason, I have set it upon my heart to help them, so that they might have a great desire to learn the Hebrew language, insofar as the help of the God of life shall live with me. For without Him, no man can do much, as our Jesus, our Messiah, speaks in His teaching, to whom and to His Father and to the Holy Spirit may there be glory forever.
