Art. II Noting the number, distinction, and order of the things to be treated through the resolution of the doubt.

Doubt I For the foreknowledge of the things to be treated, this doubt is premised: How many and what things are required for the due and orderly celebration of the most worthy sacrament of the Eucharist and the mass.

I The minister or priest fit

for celebrating.

II A suitable place for celebrating.

III A congruent time for celebrating.

IV Materials for the ornament or

congruity of the celebration

that are opportune, such as vestments, ves-

sels, and other things of this sort.

Sol.

The solution of which is:
That there are nine general points, to which all necessary things can be reduced.

V Ceremonies customary in saying and

doing.

VI Matter fit for consecrating,

namely bread and wine.

VII The due form of consecration of

each.

VIII Knowledge of the intention and reason

of those things which are said in the mass.

IX Intelligence of the reason and

signification of those things which are done in

the mass and around it.
