That the preachers and confessors who teach that those who communicate and converse with those of the religion are damned be punished as disturbers of the public safety and breakers of the edicts, by which their Majesties have declared their intentions to unite the wills of their people. That they be given two Masters of Requests, without payment i.e., without the purchase price usually required for such offices for the first time: and one notary in each Royal seat, or at least in the places of safety the fortified towns granted to the Huguenots for their protection, by paying the required fee. That the Jesuits may not have their residence in the places of safety. That it be requested that some place of safety be granted in the Provinces where there are numbers of people of the religion, and where there are none: And that it be left to the prudence of the assembly to see, according to the times, to what extent this request shall be pursued.
