human beings; otherwise God the Lord would not have created man and woman, as is seen in all species of animals.

6. However, because Man is the last among all perfect animals, he did not only require divine help to attain his perfection; he also needed a special created light. This light was poured from the outside into his seed semen or generative essence, which was specifically prepared for this purpose. By virtue of this light, he could attain such a high degree of perfection, which distinguished him greatly from other animals.

7. It is therefore true that the Fountain of the Sages the fundamental alchemical substance attains the animal grade through several means. Partly, it comes from a power implanted within itself, which it received from the light and the heavenly spirit. Partly, it comes from divine omnipotence, which God implanted and shared with it at the beginning of creation. Finally, it comes from a special created light, which it received through and in the creation by divine infusion. By virtue of this, it is raised to the final grade of a sensitive and rational soul.
