Chapter V.

How the Fountain of the Sages becomes Mineral.

Our fountain seems to become mineral belonging to the kingdom of ores and stones of its own accord, because it is born in the center of the earth original: "Centro der Erden". There, it takes on an earthly and mineral essence more than anything else.

2. Yet it is to be believed, because it lies hidden in the center of the earth, that it is entirely indifferent neutral or unassigned and not yet specified, until it is activated by the heavenly spirit and informed or determined to become this or that mineral.

3. It is activated by that same spirit by being placed into a specific state, such as the metals require for their birth.
