incomprehensible and inexhaustible end, which
nature, with its human understanding, cannot
comprehend. That, therefore, which understanding
cannot comprehend is Supernatural, but it must
be understood by faith, so that it is
a celestial matter and belongs to Theology,
which judges the soul. Furthermore, there belong
also to Supernatural things the angels of
God, who have clarified bodies and accomplish
by the permission of their Creator what is
impossible for other creatures to do,
given that the works they perform are hidden
from the eyes of everyone; just as
likewise the works of Devils and infernal
spirits, so long as it is permitted them by the
Almighty. But above all things, the great
works of God are found and known as such,
that they cannot be judged or understood
by the natural thought of man, principally
such as the great grace and benefits
of God which he has made man participate in
through his great love for him, which truly
no one can palpably fathom or
know, any more than other great and
diverse wonders he has shown through Jesus
Christ our Lord and Redeemer for
witness of his omnipotence and glory,
as when he raised Lazarus from the
dead, the daughter of Jairus, and also the son of the
Widow of Nain. He made the mute speak and
the deaf hear; He also made the blind see and

such as his conception, descent
into hell, and ascension, all of which are
things too deep and hidden for nature,
and all of this can only be acquired by faith.
There also belong to supernatural things
the ascension of Elijah and Enoch, just as the
rapture of St. Paul in spirit as far as the
Third Heaven. Furthermore, many supernatural
things are also done through
imagination, Dreams, and visions, as often
many wonders are operated by the imagina-
tion, like the sheep that became marked
because of the white rods that were put in the water.
God made the wise men of the East understand by a Dream
that they should not return to Herod; also the
gifts that these three personages made have
a particular secret significance, as does
likewise the Supernatural star. Truly, the
dream that Pilate's wife had was also
not natural, which condemned our Lord J. C.
