Saying the twelfth

Whoever wants to ascend great steps should guard his soul from vile things.

Saying the thirteenth

He who has departed into this world will be satisfied with bitternesses, and he who has departed from it is liberated from the distresses.

Saying the fourteenth

The son of man is fed with wisdom, burdened with his sins, and crouching under the weight.

עושר riches
נבליהם to their vile ones
קוצצי to the cutters
ידיהם of their hands
שיאהב when he loves
נדיביהם to their generous ones

Saying the fifteenth

When God has disgust for the congregation, He gives the riches to their vile ones and to the cutters of their hands; and when He loves them, He gives the riches to their generous ones.

חברו his companion
תגמול you will repay/bestow
חסד grace/kindness
גבירו his master

Saying the sixteenth

If you humble yourself to whomever you wish, you will be his prisoner; and if you do not need anyone, you will be his companion; and if you bestow kindness upon whomever you wish, you will be his master.

Saying the seventeenth

Wisdom calls, "Hurry and teach me before it vanishes."
