A large, hand-colored astronomical engraving showing the comparative sizes of celestial bodies. The diagram features a series of nested, eccentric circles that all meet at a singular point at the bottom center. The largest, outermost circle, rendered in golden-yellow, represents the Sun. Moving inward, successive circles of various colors (including blue, pink, and grey) represent the stars of the first through sixth magnitudes, as well as the planets Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars. At the very bottom center is a tiny green globe labeled "EARTH." A central vertical line bisects the diagram, annotated with measurements. The entire composition is framed by a sky filled with soft blue and pink clouds and populated by floating winged putti (cherubs). Two pairs of putti at the top hold separate banners that together display the main title.
