A detailed astronomical and astrological chart from a 17th-century celestial atlas, possibly by Andreas Cellarius. The central feature is a large circular diagram representing planetary aspects and the divisions of the zodiac. At the very center of the diagram is a small circular polar projection map of the Northern Hemisphere, labeled 'ORBIT OF THE NORTHERN EARTH'. Surrounding this map are concentric rings and a network of intersecting geometric lines in red, yellow, and green. These lines connect the twelve signs of the zodiac to illustrate astrological aspects: conjunction (conjoined), sextile (60°), square (90°), trine (120°), and opposition (180°). The outermost ring of the large circle displays the twelve signs of the zodiac with their traditional symbols and names: GEMINI, CANCER, LEO, VIRGO, LIBRA, SCORPIO, SAGITTARIUS, CAPRICORN, AQUARIUS, PISCES, ARIES, TAURUS. The square frame is decorated with celestial imagery in the corners: pairs of putti emerge from colorful clouds, holding green banners that contain the title of the diagram. Bottom left contains 'PARALLAXES OF THE PLANETS' and a scientific diagram showing the principle of parallax. Bottom right contains 'CONJUNCTIONS OF THE PLANETS' and a diagram showing planetary alignment.
