A woodcut printer's device or emblem centered on the page. On the left side is a caduceus, a staff with two entwined snakes, topped with a winged helmet and a bird. On the right side stands a female figure in classical armor, likely Athena or Minerva, holding a spear and a shield bearing a coat of arms (a chevron with three stars). The scene is enclosed in a decorative frame of Renaissance-style scrollwork.
