Which is much more incumbent upon us Christians according to the command of our Master and Lord JESUS CHRIST, but, alas, God have mercy, such love and faithfulness has almost entirely cooled and disappeared in the hearts of all people. Therefore all things lie in knowledge, from which then flow the fruits toward the same, the knowledge gives the faith: for he who knows God, he believes in Him: he who does not know Him, he does not believe in Him: Therefore, everyone believes as much as he knows. So also in Alchemy, whoever does not learn to recognize it, its nature, and its hidden secret powers, deeply locked in the metals and minerals, he will not love it, much less bring it out, know how to separate the pure from the impure, much less obtain the Fifth essence, which is the whole core and foundation in every creature or being. And of this, let this much suffice as philosophized until our joyful meeting and verbal conversation.
