thereafter, however, set it in the balneum water bath, and drive it over; wash this material out with warm water, so that a lime remains in the bottom, dry it, put it in a violet glass, and set it to fix make stable until it becomes entirely fixed. To the fixed [substance] add a little white tartar potassium bitartrate, and pour a brandy distilled spirit thereon, draw that off alone, or with the tartar, until the lime flows like wax upon ♀ copper plates, without smoke, so the lime or the tincture is prepared. Of this tincture take one part or one lot and throw it upon eight lots of purged veneris copper; when it flows strongly, pour to the tooth, and drive it off, and while it drives in the saturno lead, so throw yet another half lot of the powder or tincture to it and let it go with it to the glance, so you have the best fine luna silver as good as it comes from the mountains.
