A gilt-stamped coat of arms is centered on a dark brown mottled leather book binding. The heraldic composition is oval-shaped and enclosed within a laurel wreath. At the top, a large, ornate crown surmounts two accosted (side-by-side) shields. The left shield contains multiple quarters, including the distinctive lozenge pattern of the House of Wittelsbach (Bavaria). The right shield features other complex heraldic charges. Below the shields, a small oval cartouche contains an intertwined monogram. At the very bottom, a cross from a knightly order is suspended from the base of the laurel wreath.
