censors (whom they nevertheless heed
little, and refer back to their
instigator). Since, however, in this
last corrupted cesspool
of the world, it cannot be otherwise,
they wish, through their silence,
to appease the slanderous mouths
much more, and move them to better,
more reasonable reflection
(as experienced physicians are wont
to deal with the insane), rather
than to incite further
slander and anger through a
more extensive answer, which they could,
without any doubt, easily do
with the consistency of truth.
